Enjoy a family-friendly astronomy talk by one of our knowledgeable volunteers followed by viewing through a variety of small outside telescopes (weather permitting). Talk begins at 9:00pm. Note: a separate Dome Tour ticket is required for viewing through our 30” telescope.

Title: The Prime Meridian, where East meets West

Presenter: Christopher Ashford

Description: The Royal Observatory was established in 1676 in Greenwich, London. Why was it built? Who were the first professional British astronomers and what was their mission? Join amateur astronomer Chris Ashford to see what their telescopes looked like and learn about the relationship between astronomy and navigation.
